Which Scooter, and What Else Is on the Road

Take the ADV350 if you want to leave Bangkok on weekends: the tall screen, long suspension travel and extra ground clearance are the difference between enjoying a Kanchanaburi road and enduring it. It is also, right now, the only NOIRR scooter you can actually book. Do I Need a Licence to Rent a Scooter in Bangkok?

Yes. The ADV350 and XMAX 300 are both well over 150cc, so you need an International Driving Permit with a motorcycle endorsement (Category A), or a valid Thai motorcycle licence. A car-only licence does not cover either. Minimum age is 21, and a passport copy is checked at delivery and handed straight back, never held. Grab and Bolt are better for a single trip between two fixed points, especially in the rain. A rented scooter wins the moment you have three or more stops in a day. Half a day of moderate movement on Grab runs THB 300 to 600 and rises with surge. A scooter is a fixed number for 24 hours and it is waiting outside when you want it.
