Two Bikes, Very Different Characters
Both are sport naked motorcycles. Both are 900cc+. Both are available through NOIRR in Bangkok with delivery. They are not the same bike, and which one suits you depends on what kind of rider you are and where you plan to go.
The Numbers
- Ducati Monster 937: 937cc L-twin, 111hp at 9,250rpm, 93Nm torque, 188kg, ฿3,500/day
- Kawasaki Z900: 948cc inline-four, 125hp, 98.6Nm, 193kg, ฿2,800/day
The Z900 makes more power. The Ducati makes its power in a more characterful way. The L-twin fires differently than an inline-four. If you have ridden both before, you already know which you prefer.
For Bangkok City Riding
Both are overqualified for city traffic. The Ducati's L-twin torque makes it easier to work in slow traffic without needing high revs. The Z900's inline-four wants to be ridden harder. For pure city commuting, the Ducati is more relaxed to ride slowly. Neither is the right tool for heavy traffic, but they are the right tools for moving through it when it opens up.
For Bangkok to Road Trip Routes
On the highway and open roads (Hua Hin, Kanchanaburi, Khao Yai), the Z900 pulls harder at higher speeds. The Ducati is the better choice for winding mountain sections. Both handle the Rama II highway south well. If you plan to mix highway and winding roads, choose based on which engine character appeals more.

- Highway-oriented riders who spend more time in straight-line running
