The Honest Summary
Bangkok has a functional EV charging network for short-term renters. It is not as dense as major European cities, but for urban use it is more than adequate. A Tesla Model 3 with 580km of range and a Jaecoo 6 EV with 501km of range will cover typical Bangkok daily use on a single charge without any charging anxiety. Where you need to know the network is for day trips out of the city or if your accommodation does not have its own charging.
Tesla Superchargers in Bangkok
Tesla operates multiple Supercharger stations in Bangkok. The most useful locations for renters staying in the central corridors:
- EmQuartier, Sukhumvit 35: Located in the basement car park of the EmQuartier shopping complex. Convenient for riders staying in Thonglor, Ekkamai, or Phrom Phong.
- Central World, Ratchaprasong: In the Central World car park. Central location, useful if you are in the Siam or Chidlom area.
- Icon Siam, Charoen Nakhon: On the riverside, accessible from Sathorn or the expressway. Typically less congested than the Sukhumvit stations.
- Terminal 21, Asok: Ground-level access near Asok intersection. One of the most central Supercharger points in Bangkok.
Tesla Superchargers accept payment via the Tesla app. No membership is required. Rate as of mid-2026: approximately THB 8-10 per kWh at V3 stations. At 580km range and roughly 15kWh per 100km for the Model 3, a full charge from near-empty costs approximately THB 700-870. Most renters in Bangkok will need a top-up charge once during a week, not a full charge from empty.
Tesla Destination Chargers: Hotel and Condo Coverage
Bangkok has a growing number of Tesla Destination Chargers installed at hotels and condominiums. These are slower AC chargers (Level 2, typically 7-22kW) that work well for overnight charging. Properties with Destination Chargers in the Sukhumvit and Silom areas include several of the larger hotel chains and serviced apartment complexes.
When booking accommodation for a NOIRR Tesla rental, check whether your hotel or condo has EV charging. Overnight at a Destination Charger means starting each day with a full battery. For weekly renters this eliminates any need to visit a public fast-charger network at all.
EA Anywhere: The Broadest Network in Bangkok
Energy Absolute's EA Anywhere is the largest third-party EV charging network in Thailand. Stations are installed at petrol stations, shopping centres, and standalone locations across Bangkok. Charger types vary by station: Level 2 AC and DC fast-chargers (50kW-150kW) are both available.
EA Anywhere charges per kWh. The EA Anywhere app is required for payment. Registration is straightforward with a Thai phone number or foreign number. Rate: approximately THB 6.50-8.50 per kWh depending on station type and location. An EA Anywhere fast-charge on a Jaecoo 6 EV from 20% to 80% takes approximately 40-50 minutes at a 50kW station.
Key EA Anywhere locations relevant to NOIRR renters: Asok, Thonglor, Lat Phrao, Ratchadaphisek, Chaengwattana (for Don Mueang airport returns), and the Bang Na corridor (for Suvarnabhumi airport returns).
PTT EV Station PluZ
PTT (the Thai state oil company) has integrated EV charging at selected PTT petrol stations under the EV Station PluZ brand. These are practical stops because they are already destinations: you can fuel a petrol vehicle, buy food, and charge an EV at the same station. Coverage on key Bangkok exit routes is solid: Rama II (south toward Hua Hin), Kanchanaphisek Ring Road, and the Don Mueang corridor north.
PTT EV Station PluZ DC fast-chargers range from 50kW to 120kW depending on station. Payment via the PTT or EV Station PluZ app. Rate: approximately THB 7-9 per kWh. Coverage on the Rama II Highway between Bangkok and Hua Hin is sufficient for the Tesla Model 3 without range concern.
Charging Cost vs Petrol: The Numbers
At 95 octane petrol: approximately THB 42/litre as of mid-2026. A Toyota Camry averaging 11 litres per 100km costs approximately THB 462 per 100km in fuel. The Tesla Model 3 at THB 9/kWh and 15kWh per 100km costs approximately THB 135 per 100km at a Supercharger. At a Destination Charger where your hotel provides charging as part of the stay, the cost is zero.
For 7 days of Bangkok driving at approximately 80km per day: petrol equivalent costs roughly THB 2,600 in fuel. EV equivalent at Supercharger rates: approximately THB 760. The EV advantage on fuel cost is approximately THB 1,800 over a week. At the rental price difference between an EV and a conventional vehicle, the fuel saving is a secondary factor. The primary reason to rent the Tesla is the driving experience and the delivered convenience.
Bangkok to Hua Hin on One Charge
The road distance from central Bangkok to Hua Hin is approximately 200km. At highway speeds, the Tesla Model 3 Long Range consumes approximately 17-19kWh per 100km. A full charge (580km rated range) covers the Bangkok to Hua Hin run with comfortable margin. A 90% charge is sufficient. No en-route charging is needed.
The return trip is also single-charge if you depart Hua Hin with a reasonably full battery. Hua Hin has Tesla Destination Chargers at several large hotels and an EA Anywhere station near the town centre. If you stay overnight, depart with a full battery and the round trip requires no motorway charging stop in either direction.
The Jaecoo 6 EV (501km range) also covers the Bangkok to Hua Hin run on a single charge, with less margin. A full charge before departure is recommended.
Charging at Your NOIRR Delivery Address
NOIRR vehicles arrive with a sufficient charge for the first day of rental. For the Tesla, NOIRR will advise on the nearest fast-charger to your delivery address at handover. For renters in Sukhumvit, Silom, or Sathorn, a Supercharger or EA Anywhere station is within 15 minutes of most addresses.
