One Day Motorbike Rental in Bangkok: What 24 Hours Buys

Published 2026-08-19

The short answer

One day on the Ducati Monster 937 in Bangkok costs ฿3,500. Delivery and collection anywhere in the city are in that price, the minimum rental is one day, and the deposit is ฿20,000, refundable, paid in cash or by card at delivery. NOIRR never holds your passport. Pick the date from the calendar and the bike comes to you.

That is the whole offer. The Monster 937 is the only vehicle NOIRR has on the road today. The Kawasaki Z900, Honda ADV350, Yamaha XMAX 300, Tesla Model 3 and Jaecoo 6 EV have no dates available, because they are not in the NOIRR fleet yet.

What ฿3,500 includes for one day

  • Delivery to your address in Bangkok and collection from wherever you finish. No shop, no counter, no queue.
  • Third party liability insurance, which covers damage you cause to other people and their property.
  • A helmet. Bring your own gear if you have it.
  • A full 14 litre tank at handover. Return it full.
  • A phone number that a person answers for the whole time the bike is with you.

Not included: fuel you use, expressway tolls, traffic fines, and delivery outside the outer city, which is quoted before you book rather than at the handover.

How one day is actually counted

The day runs from handover to the same time the next day. Take the bike at 09:00 Tuesday, hand it back by 09:00 Wednesday. It is not a calendar day that dies at midnight, which matters if the point of your day is the city at night.

Running late is a phone call, not a penalty, if the call happens early. Tell NOIRR by mid afternoon and a few extra hours are usually free. Tell NOIRR at 21:00 that you want to keep it until tomorrow and it is a second day at ฿3,500. Five days or more is priced lower per day, so if you are hesitating between one day and a week, ask before you book rather than after.

Handover takes about 15 minutes. Documents checked, condition photographed by both sides, deposit taken, keys, gone.

Where the bike arrives

Anywhere in Bangkok, included in the rate: Asok, Phrom Phong, Thonglor, Ekkamai, On Nut and the rest of Sukhumvit, Silom, Sathorn, Ratchada, Huai Khwang, Ari, Phaya Thai, the Charoen Krung riverside, and arrivals at Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang. Twenty four hours notice is comfortable. Same day is sometimes possible, so ask.

Three things worth doing with exactly one day

The night city loop, about 45 km, three hours. Start at 21:00 when Bangkok stops fighting you. Ratchadaphisek north, across to Vibhavadi Rangsit, down through Phaya Thai, then Charoen Krung along the river and back through Silom. Empty roads, lit temples, and a 937cc L twin echoing off the buildings. This is the ride people book the bike for.

Ayutthaya and back, 80 km each way, out at 06:00. Phahonyothin north, then Route 32. Two hours of ruins in the early light, lunch by the river, and home before the afternoon storms that build between 15:00 and 18:00 from May to October. On the expressway sections that permit motorcycles the Monster is legal, which is the part that saves you the traffic.

Amphawa, 90 km southwest, leave at 07:00. Rama II is wide, smooth and fast, the floating market is worth the early alarm, and the road back at dusk is one of the better rides within an hour of the city.

Why Bangkok expressways are closed to bikes, and what that means for a day trip

Motorcycles are not permitted on Bangkok's tolled expressways, including the Chalerm Maha Nakhon and Si Rat, at any engine size. The 400cc minimum people cite applies to the inter-city Motorways 7 and 9, not to the city expressway network, and rental bikes are excluded there in any case. Plan Bangkok routes on surface roads. Every bike leaves the city on surface roads, so nothing is faster getting out. The difference is the highway leg: the Monster cruises it, and a 330cc Honda ADV350 or a 292cc Yamaha XMAX 300 spends it at full throttle.

Documents and deposit

You need your home country motorcycle licence plus an International Driving Permit with the motorcycle class, Category A, or a Thai motorcycle licence. Originals, not photographs of them. A car only IDP does not cover motorcycles and your travel insurance reads it the same way. Riders must be 21 or over with real time on 400cc and above.

The deposit is ฿20,000, refundable, cash or card, taken at delivery and returned in full at collection when the bike comes back undamaged. Bangkok big bike shops commonly ask for ฿10,000 to ฿40,000 in cash and hold your passport as well. NOIRR does not hold passports, on any rental, for any length. The reasoning is at motorbike rental deposits in Bangkok.

Wanted a scooter for the day instead

Understood, and NOIRR does not have one on the road. The Yamaha XMAX 300 at a ฿1,100 reference rate and the Honda ADV350 at ฿1,400 both show no dates available, because neither is in the NOIRR fleet yet. Those numbers are what will apply when dates open, not a live offer. Get notified when dates open and NOIRR emails you about that and nothing else.

Who should not book a single day

If you have never ridden a bike over 400cc, one day in Bangkok traffic is a poor place to learn. If you land at 23:00 and want the bike at 07:00, the documents will not be checked properly and NOIRR would rather lose the booking. If your plan is to carry a passenger and luggage to Pattaya, this is a naked sport bike with a 14 litre tank and no storage, so plan the day around what it is.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is a one day motorbike rental in Bangkok?

A single day on the Ducati Monster 937 from NOIRR costs 3,500 THB. That includes delivery and collection anywhere in Bangkok, third party liability insurance, a helmet and a full tank of fuel. The minimum rental is one day and rentals of five days or more are priced lower per day.

Does a one day rental mean 24 hours or a calendar day?

With NOIRR it is 24 hours from handover. A bike delivered at 09:00 on Tuesday is due back by 09:00 on Wednesday, so an evening ride does not cost you a second day. Extra hours are usually free if you call the same afternoon, and keeping the bike overnight is charged as another full day at 3,500 THB.

What deposit does NOIRR take for a one day rental?

20,000 THB, refundable, paid in cash or by card at delivery and returned in full at collection if the bike comes back undamaged. NOIRR never holds a passport. Bangkok big bike shops commonly ask for 10,000 to 40,000 THB in cash and keep the passport as well.

Can I rent a scooter for one day from NOIRR in Bangkok?

No. The Yamaha XMAX 300 and the Honda ADV350 have no dates available because neither is in the NOIRR fleet yet. Their reference rates of 1,100 and 1,400 THB per day apply only when dates open. The Ducati Monster 937 at 3,500 THB per day is the vehicle that can be booked today.

What licence do I need for a one day big bike rental in Bangkok?

A motorcycle licence from your home country plus an International Driving Permit with the motorcycle class, Category A, or a Thai motorcycle licence. A car only IDP does not cover motorcycles and invalidates most travel insurance policies. NOIRR also requires riders to be 21 or over with genuine experience on motorcycles of 400cc and above.

Can a rented motorbike use the Bangkok expressways for a day trip?

Motorcycles are not permitted on Bangkok's tolled expressways, including the Chalerm Maha Nakhon and Si Rat, at any engine size. The 400cc minimum people cite applies to the inter-city Motorways 7 and 9, not to the city expressway network, and rental bikes are excluded there in any case. Plan Bangkok routes on surface roads.Every bike leaves Bangkok on surface roads, so the difference is not the exit, it is the highway leg afterwards, where the Monster is comfortable and a 300cc scooter is at its limit.
